About the Diagnostic
Assess Your Value Demonstration Capability
CxO Creative’s Strategic Value Diagnostic™ assesses your D&A function's ability to demonstrate value across four critical dimensions. The assessment includes 45 carefully curated questions and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete. The goal is to identify where value gets lost and where to your focus improvement efforts.
Who It’s For
The diagnostic is designed for senior-level Data & Analytics executives: CDOs, CAOs, CDAOs, Chief AI Officers, and similar leader roles.
Setting the Stage
What "D&A" means in this diagnostic: The assessment focuses on the centralized data & analytics function – the team(s) responsible for enterprise-wide data management, data engineering, analytics, and AI capabilities.
If data and analytics report to different leaders: Some organizations have separate CDO and CAO/CAIO roles, sometimes reporting to different executives. If this describes your organization, please answer based on your knowledge of the broader enterprise D&A capability, not just your direct area of responsibility. Where you lack visibility into another leader's domain, answer based on what you know.
Assessment Dimensions
The diagnostic is divided into four (4) sections, each measuring a different dimension of the D&A practice that has a direct bearing on value management maturity:
Organizational Structure (8 Questions): Is your D&A function positioned to demonstrate value, or structured in a way that obscures contribution?
Engagement Models (11 Questions): How does D&A engage with the business? Reactive order-taking or strategic partnership?
Value Tracking Mechanisms (14 Questions): Are there systems in place to measure, attribute, and connect investments in centralized D&A to business outcomes?
Storytelling (12 Questions): Can you translate D&A value into compelling narratives that resonate with business leadership – not just having the data, but telling the story?

Your overall maturity score
Scores for each of the four assessment dimensions
Your value management maturity level (Nascent, Foundational, Emerging, Established, or Advanced)
Engaged clients receive a full Value Management Maturity Report, tailored to their specific functional context
